Retired members of Sarnia Fire Rescue Services will be able to tour the new station on Colborne Road on Thursday during an open house.
The $7.6 million fire hall was officially unveiled on January 30, however, most residents have yet to see the new 8,500-square-foot facility.
An open house for retired members and their families will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The invitation was also extended to the families of former Sarnia firefighters who have passed away.
"Station 3 is the future of the fire service in Sarnia. We continue to keep a strong connection to our retired members, including the families of those who have passed," said Deputy Fire Chief and Community Emergency Management Coordinator Dale Gartshore.
A grand opening ceremony for members of the public is expected to take place this spring once the front pad is complete. As of the beginning of February, the front area still had debris from the demolition of the former station, which was located directly in front of the new fire hall.
