Sarnia construction activity off to slow start for 2024

It was a cold start to the year for construction activity in Sarnia.

City hall issued a total of 31 permits in January, with a construction value of just over $3.8 million, compared to just over $4.8 million in January 2023.

The largest permit of $600,000 was for a residential build in a new Bright's Grove subdivision on Cottage Lane.

Four permits were issued for townhouses with a combined value of over $1.4 million.

There was just one permit issued last month for a single family home in Sarnia, down from four during the same month last year.
