Two teens are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Sarnia.
According to police, the arrests were the result of an investigation by the vice unit. Police say two youths were identified and at about 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, officers stopped a vehicle on Durand Street near Mitton Street North.
Police allege a search of the vehicle turned up over 100 grams of fentanyl, 0.32 grams of cocaine, and $475 in cash.
Both teens, 16 and 17, from London were charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Police allege the 16-year-old was also found to be in possession of a flare gun, which was painted silver, and two rounds of ammunition. The teen faces additional charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of breaching a youth sentence order.
Police said the total street value for the drugs seized is estimated at $15,081.
Both teens were held for a bail hearing and later released with a future court date.
