Single vehicle crash leads to impaired driving charges

A 25 year-old woman is facing impaired driving charges after a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

The Sarnia Police Service said at around 1:37 a.m. police were called to the area of Queen Street and Confederation Street, where officers saw a blue Kia had struck a hydro pole in reverse.

Police said the driver tried to flee the scene with damaged parts sparking along the roadway.

Officers also said this when the vehicle was located and stopped with the driver still behind the wheel.

Police allege an odour and evidence of alcohol was observed.

The woman was then arrested where she took breathalyzer samples which came back two times over the legal limit.
