Residents in Corunna and Mooretown were not mistaken if they felt the earth briefly shake Wednesday morning.
Earthquakes Canada has confirmed that a small magnitude 2.5 earthquake was "lightly felt" in Corunna on December 27 at 9:47 a.m.
The seismic event was felt two kilometres west-southwest of Corunna, according to the government agency.
Few other details were posted on Earthquakes Canada's website.
It wasn't too long ago that Corunna felt minor seismic activity. In October, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported in the area as well.
Natural Resources Canada Research Scientist Allison Bent previously told Sarnia News Today, there have been eight recorded earthquakes within 50 kilometres of Corunna in the last five years, but none were larger than magnitude 2.5.
