A free workshop this week is hoped to collect input for a community anti-racism, anti-discrimination and anti-oppression strategy.
The Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership (SL-LIP) and the Sarnia-Lambton Anti-racism, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (SLARDIC) are hosting the workshop Racism is Bad for our Health: From Conversation to Action on Discrimination.
SL-LIP Project Coordinator Stephanie Ferrera said participants can share ideas for solutions and actions to address the issues in Lambton County.
“We find ourselves on the cusp of meaningful change in Lambton," said Ferrera. "The community is ready to do the work and should be recognized as champions of this change.
Ferrera said there will be presentations from local leaders and organizations.
Two sessions will be held at the Lambton College Events Centre on September 12, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Registration is required, as lunch will be provided for the afternoon session and dinner for the evening workshop.
