Monteith Brown to assist with new Grand Bend community centre

Construction of a new community centre in Grand Bend is one step closer to reality.

Lambton Shores has hired Monteith Brown Planning Consultants (MBPC) to develop a feasibility study for the project.

The municipality said no submissions were received as part of the Request for Proposal process that closed on May 12.

Monteith Brown didn't provide a submission at the time because they were concerned about whether they could complete the study within the suggested timeframe.

Lambton Shores decided to be flexible with its timeline and opted to hire the firm for the work.

Monteith Brown will now meet with the project advisory committee before finalizing the study workplan to obtain feedback on the preferred method of public consultation.

It's hoped the meeting will take place this fall.

There's an anticipated start date in the fall of 2023 and it's hoped the project will be completed by mid 2024.

The consultant will meet with the committee prior to finalizing the study workplan to obtain feedback on the preferred method of public consultation.

Monteith Brown has worked with the municipality in the past, having completed both the Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan (in 2011) and the Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan Update (in 2018).
