Winning debut for Sting's Christian Kyrou

The Sarnia Sting (15-10-4-2) defeated the Erie Otters (11-14-0-3) 4-1 Wednesday night, in their first matchup of the season.

Porter Martone hit the back of the net first for the Sting early in the first period.

Newly acquired defenceman Chirstian Kyrou scored for the Sting in his debut game with the team.

"We played the right way, our goalie had a good game so props to him and we just played our game," said Kyrou. "It's great to be back in this facility for sure, excited. Definitely great scoring against my former team, but it's good to get those two points."

Sasha Pastujov and Nolan Burke also scored for the Sting. Goalie Nicholas Surzycia made 20 saves in the win.

Next up for the Sting, they travel to Flint on Friday to take on the Firebirds. The game can be heard on CHOK 103.9FM/1070AM beginning with the pregame at 6:30 p.m.
