Alleged drunk driver crashes into house

A 19-year-old Lambton Shores man accused of crashing into a house and fleeing the scene is facing impaired driving charges.

Lambton OPP said a collision was reported on Union Street on December 9 at 9 p.m.

The vehicle in question was found in the area.

Officers suspected the driver of being impaired so he was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he reportedly provided two breath samples above the legal limit.

The young driver was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), failure to remain (under the Highway Traffic Act), and failure to report an accident (HTA).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date.

Damages to the house were not specified in the police report.
