Lambton County Plowing Match marks 100 years

The Lambton County Plowing Match is celebrating a milestone anniversary.

The event is marking its 100th year on Saturday, September 3.

Registration for the plowing match at 1748 Rokeby Line in St. Clair Township begins at 9 a.m., with the event to start at 10 a.m.

The Lambton County Plowmen's Association said there will also be antique machinery and other displays, as well as plowing classes, youth activities and live music. Scott Manery and the Barnburners are expected to play from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

"At one point there will [also] be a new Queen of the Furrow for Lambton County crowned," said Chairman of the 100th anniversary Dennis Bryson. "We'll have the Lions Club from Petrolia as well with a food truck for the day and we'll also have an ice cream truck."

Admission is free.
