Voter turnout in the 43rd Ontario General Election in Sarnia-Lambton was significantly lower.
Unofficial results at Elections Ontario say 46.2 per cent of the 86,734 eligible registered voters cast a ballot in the 43rd Ontario General Election, down from 61.56 per cent four years ago.
Progressive Conservative incumbent Bob Bailey won a fifth term with 21,183 votes, or 52.73 per cent.
NDP Candidate Dylan Stelpstra finished second in the riding with 9,492 votes, or 23.6 per cent.
In Lambton-Kent Middlesex, voter turnout was just under 45 per cent compared to 56.1 per cent in 2018. Monte McNaughton secured his fourth victory with 59 per cent of the vote, over 16,460 votes ahead of his nearest opponent NDP candidate Vanessa Benoit.
Voter turnout dropped across the province. Out of 10.7 million eligible voters, only 4.6 million, or 43.03 per cent cast a ballot, for the lowest turnout in Ontario history.
