Former city alderman remembered

The flag in front of Sarnia City Hall was lowered to half-mast Thursday in memory of a former alderman.

Allan Brogden, affectionately called 'Big Al' by friends and family members, passed away at Bluewater Health on Thursday, March 24.

According to his obituary, Brogden was an international consulting electrical engineer and the founder of A.B. Brogden Ltd.

Brogden served on Sarnia city council from 1985 to 1990 and city/county council from 1991 to 1994 and 1997 to 2000.

A visitation and celebration of life at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre is being planned for this August.

Brogden was 80-years-old.
