The Sarnia Sting couldn't find the back of the net in a 5-0 loss in Owen Sound Tuesday night.
The Attack scored all five of their goals in the third period, including two empty-netters, and Nick Chenard made 28 saves for the shutout, his fifth of the season and second against the Sting.
Sarnia had a strong first period, outshooting Owen Sound 13-6 and killing off the Attack's lone power play of the opening frame.
Sting goaltender Ben Gaudreau had a much busier second period with the Attack firing 17 shots on net. Sarnia had nine more shots and the game remained scoreless heading into the third period.
Owen Sound's Lorenzo Bonaiuto finally opened the scoring at 4:39, his second of the season. Ethan Burroughs scored a power play goal at 10:21 to make it 2-0 and Deni Goure increased the lead to three at 13:01. The Attack added a pair of short-handed empty net goals at 15:12 and 18:57 to seal the win.
Gaudreau made 35 saves in the loss and defenceman Ethan Ritchie led the club in shots with seven.
The Sting have 12 games remaining on the season and are currently eighth in the OHL's Western Conference, four points ahead of Erie.
Sarnia is back in action Friday night when the club hosts Saginaw -- coverage on CHOK (1070 AM/103.9 FM) begins at 6:30 p.m. The Sting wrap up their week with a home-and-home versus the Attack.
