Heavy rainfall, flooding possible

We could be in for some significant spring showers.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Sarnia-Lambton.

The national weather agency said rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 millimetres could result in localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The ground is also still partially frozen, and its ability to absorb the rainfall is reduced.

In addition, strong easterly winds gusting up to 70 kilometres an hour could result in local power outages

Rain, heavy at times, is expected to begin Tuesday night and taper off by Wednesday night.
