Outbreak at Bluewater Health declared over

A COVID-19 outbreak at Bluewater Health in Sarnia has been declared over.

After consulting with Lambton Public Health, the hospital announced an end to the outbreak on the complex continuing care unit on Wednesday. The outbreak was reported on November 18, just as a different outbreak, on the general medicine unit, was declared over.

"Diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control this outbreak," read a release from the hospital. "Bluewater Health is grateful for the support of all staff and professional staff, patients and family, and the community during this time."

Bluewater Health is currently caring for three COVID-positive patients.
