Active COVID-19 case count trends upwards in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 infections in Sarnia-Lambton has surpassed the 100 mark.

Lambton Public Health reported 13 new cases on Saturday and seven recoveries. The active case count is now at 103.

The number of active outbreaks also increased by one to a total of five. It's unknown at this time where the outbreak has been declared but the health unit is expected to update information on its website on Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 4,140 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton. There have also been a total of 3,967 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains unchanged at 70.

A walk-in vaccine clinic is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Lambton Mall.
