Slight decline in active COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped by two cases and is now at 21.

Lambton Public Health reported just one new case on Saturday and three recoveries.

There have been a total of 3,555 confirmed cases in the region since the start of the pandemic and 3,472 resolved cases.

The death toll remains at 62 and there is one remaining active outbreak.

Bluewater Health reported six COVID-19 patients in hospital, which is one less from Friday.

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
