COVID caseload up one, second-dose appointments expand to 60+

For a second straight day, Sarnia-Lambton's health unit is reporting a single new case of COVID-19.

Lambton Public Health has now reported 3,554 total cases during the pandemic, including 62 deaths and 3,469 resolved cases.

The active case-count is at 23, up one over the past 24 hours, and active outbreaks remain at one.

Bluewater Health is reporting seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Thursday.

On Friday, Lambton Public Health also announced that COVID vaccine eligibility for second dose appointments has expanded to those 60 and up or those who received their first dose on or before May 21.

Residents are encouraged to book online.  However, anyone unable to book online may schedule their second dose appointments by contacting the health unit's vaccine call centre from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 226-254-8222.
