Teen charged with operating a dirt bike unsafely

A 13-year-old in Plympton-Wyoming is facing charges for operating a dirt bike in an unsafe manner.

Lambton OPP were notified of an ongoing issue with youths operating dirt bikes on Egremont Road, near Fleming Road, June 8.

Officers were given recorded footage of unsafe acts being carried out, and a 13-year-old was identified June 10 and charged with racing a motor vehicle, performing stunts and careless driving.

The teen and their parent were also cautioned about unlawfully driving an off road vehicle on a highway without a licence plate or insurance.

The teen is scheduled to speak to the charges in court at a later date.

Lambton OPP are reminding off road vehicle owners that these vehicles are only fully permitted on roads in Dawn-Euphemia, Oil Springs and St. Clair and Warwick Townships.
