Assault, drug charges laid against teen in Point Edward

A 17-year-old is facing assault, drug and alcohol charges after an incident in Point Edward over the weekend.

At around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Lambton OPP were called to an establishment in the village for reports of an unwanted person.

Police arrived to find a suspect intoxicated in a public place who allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.

Police say a subsequent search led to the seizure of 16 grams of suspected cocaine, 26 grams of suspected cannabis and alcohol.

The teen can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
