Sarnia native appears on Live with Kelly and Ryan

Live With Kelly and Ryan welcomed a Sarnia-native to the show Thursday morning.

Dina Howson virtually took part in the Dance Party Trivia contest and walked away with a $1,000 gift card.

Howson retired from the Bank of Montreal last month, and since then, has been watching the show most mornings.

She said after seeing a contestant from Oakville on the show, she figured "I can do that too."

"So I filled out the form right away, and then this week, Tuesday, they called. They were taping for Thursday's show and asked me 'do you want to be a contestant?' And I went 'sure,'" laughed Howson.

She said the whole three-and-a-half minutes she was on the show was just a blur.

"I was definitely nervous all morning and then after I got off the phone with them -- I was on [the phone] for 20 minutes because I started listening right at the beginning of the show. So yeah, I was crazy nervous," she said. "Like I didn't even think. I said to my husband after 'I don't even know what I said. I probably rambled but I didn't think I rambled.'"

Howson, who is in her mid-50s, said the whole experience brightened up her day.

"It was fun, and don't be afraid if you want to enter those contests, because there's not a lot going on right now with COVID and I just thought it was a fun thing to do."
