Lambton OPP were called at around 11:15 a.m. on Friday for a break and enter in progress on James Street North.
Police say the homeowner chased the suspect on foot and was holding them on the ground, awaiting their arrival.
A 28-year-old Forest man is charged with break and enter and is scheduled to appear in court on February 8.
