Sting's Rees invited to World Junior Selection Camp

The Sarnia Sting's Jamieson Rees could be representing Team Canada at the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship.

The 19-year-old Carolina Hurricanes draft pick is one of 46 players invited to selection camp which is scheduled for November 16 to December 13 in Red Deer, Alberta.

Rees had 18 goals and 43 assists for 61 points in just 39 games this past season.

He has some international experience, having played for Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2018.

Other notable invitees include Sudbury's Quinton Byfield, Erie's Jamie Drysdale, Shane Wright of the Kingston Frontenacs, and Connor McMichael of the London Knights.

The 2021 World Juniors are set for December 25 to January 5 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Team Canada's first game will be on Boxing Day against Germany.
