A Petrolia man is facing several charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash early Tuesday morning.
Lambton OPP said at about 2 a.m., police, firefighters, and Lambton EMS responded to a crash on Camlachie Road, where a vehicle had caught fire.
Police determined the vehicle matched the description of another that had fled the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Confederation Line near Plowing Match Road, after striking a mailbox and hydro pole.
Police said the driver failed a roadside screening device and was arrested for impaired driving.
A 35-year-old was charged with operation while impaired, failing to remain, failing to report an accident, littering the highway, and being a novice driver with blood alcohol concentration above zero.
He's scheduled to appear in court on October 26.
The incident was one of four involving alleged impaired drivers investigated by Lambton OPP over the past week.
A driver going the wrong way on Oil Heritage Road was arrested Tuesday night.
Police said an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes at around 8 p.m.
While speaking with the driver the officer determined the driver was impaired and arrested the 67-year-old.
OPP also arrested two other alleged impaired drivers in traffic stops last Saturday night in Brooke-Alvinston and St. Clair Township.
A 32-year-old Watford woman and a 43-year-old man from Chatham were charged.
