Jakovljevic to join OJHL's Trenton Golden Hawks

A three-year member of the Sarnia Sting's defence corps will be moving on this coming season.

The OJHL's Trenton Golden Hawks have announced that Marko Jakovljevic will be joining the squad.

The 19-year-old Brantford native played in 143 career OHL games, all with the Sting, scoring three goals and adding 14 assists.

In a news release, Jakovljevic said his friend helped showcase Trenton's positives. "I got my foot in the door because of Captain Griffen Fox," said Jakovljevic "He has been my best buddy since we were young. We played with each other since we were little. From there Coach Goulet worked hard, and said all the right things. Everything has ended up working out."

He said his OHL experience will help him smoothly transition to his new team.

"Any three or four year veteran of any junior hockey is going to bring a lot of experience to the table. I feel the OHL has helped my game a ton in the last three years. I will be able to bring a level head and a calming influence. The goal will be to win a championship. I have only heard good things about Trenton."

Jakovljevic was Sarnia's second-round pick in the U18 OHL Priority Selection.
