Sarnia police made one of their largest drug busts in several years Wednesday night.
Just over $126,000 worth of drugs was seized from a residence in the 100 block of Parker Street.
Vice unit officers were conducting surveillance at the home at around 7 p.m. Wednesday when a suspect left in a vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped, and the suspect arrested with help from COPPS unit officers.
Cst. John Sottosanti said various drugs including significant quantities of cocaine and fentanyl were found when a search warrant was executed at the home.
"Officers located 460.81 grams of cocaine (worth $55,257), 130.75 grams of fentanyl (worth $65,375), 19.3 grams of MDMA (worth $1,930), 7 grams of heroin (worth $3,500), 1.16 grams of crystal meth (worth $116), and dilaudid pills (worth $140)."
Sottosanti said $2,705 in cash and a replica handgun were also seized.
He said vice unit officers have been busy lately.
"Drugs seem to be an underlying issue. We realize that part of it is an addiction, but our focus is trying to get the dealers who are supplying these drugs because without the drugs there's less chance of more people becoming addicted to it. This drug fentanyl is being sold as 0.1 of a gram, so this shows you how many people it can affect."
Brent Wilson Moore, 40, of Sarnia is charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
