COVID-19 caseload plateau extends

The COVID-19 caseload in Sarnia-Lambton has not changed in over a week.

Lambton Public Health said on Tuesday that 259 of the 286 confirmed cases in the community have been deemed resolved, and there are just two active cases remaining.

No COVID-related deaths have been reported since June 6, and the death toll stands at 25.

To date, the health unit has received results from 14, 408 tests, of which 98 per cent have been negative.

Also on Tuesday, Bluewater Health reported that there are no patients in hospital confirmed to have the virus, however, 16 are suspected of having it with tests pending.

Crash in Tilbury claims driver's life

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
