First new COVID case in Sarnia-Lambton in two weeks

Sarnia-Lambton has recorded its first new COVID-19 case in nearly two weeks.

Lambton Public Health's updated figures Friday night showed 286 confirmed cases, up one, with 257 resolved.

The death toll remains at 25 and the number of active cases is at 4.

The health unit had last reported a new case in its nightly update June 20.

Bluewater Health reported Saturday morning that there are no patients currently in hospital with the virus but 15 are suspected of having it with tests pending.

Chief of Staff Dr. Mike Haddad tweeted that Saturday marks three weeks with no acute care COVID-19 positive patients.

Currently there are no institutional outbreaks in Lambton County.
