NOVA Chemicals is dealing with a disruption in one of its production units at the Corunna site.
Company spokesperson Meaghan Lawrence said a controlled shutdown of the Olefins Unit is underway so technical teams can investigate and repair the issue.
"The shutdown will progress over the next two to three days," said Lawrence in a media statement. "As with any shutdown, periods of elevated flaring and increased noise are expected. We apologize for any noise or light disturbances this may cause our neighbours and community."
She said information updates will be shared as required and in advance of start-up.
Updates will be provided to the CAER Line (1-855-472-7642) as they become available.
