Faulty 3D printer sparks Waterworks Road house fire

A malfunctioning 3D printer is to blame for a house fire Friday evening in St. Clair Township.

Firefighters from the Brigden and Corunna stations responded to Waterworks Road near Lasalle Line.

In a Facebook post, St. Clair Fire said crews immediately started an offensive fire attack and the blaze was put out without incident or injury.

Chief Walt Anderson says the fire was contained to one bedroom and part of the attic.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

Fire officials say the occupants were alerted to the fire by working smoke alarms.
