Walpole Island man charged in Christmas Eve ATV theft

A 34-year-old Walpole Island man, who allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle on Christmas Eve, then stole a citizen's ATV, has been arrested and charged.

While responding to a single-vehicle crash on Baseline Road in St. Clair Township at 2:45 p.m. December 24, Lambton OPP were told a concerned citizen, who stopped to check if the driver was okay, was forcibly removed from his all-terrain vehicle.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries and the vehicle was found abandoned several hours later.

Matthew Miller was arrested Tuesday and is charged with robbery with violence, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply.

He was being held pending a bail hearing.
