Sarnia-Lambton MP moves constituency office

The constituency office for Sarnia-Lambton's MP has moved.

Marilyn Gladu said she's still located in the same plaza, at Finch Drive and Wellington Street in Sarnia, just in a different space.

"We've moved from one side of BrownStones to the other side of BrownStones," said Gladu. "This place has a bit more room and more privacy for people when we're talking about their issues. In the past, everybody had to stand at the front counter and recount their lives and that's not very good from a confidentiality point of view."

Gladu said even though the new sign is smaller, the space is actually larger with more features.

"From an accessibility point of view, we wanted to make sure that people that had wheelchairs were able to use a button to get into the door, as well as more security. There's a secure entrance now. We don't have a lot of people that would be of concern, but from time to time, people that are extremely frustrated with the government do appear."

Gladu was stuck in a blizzard in Nunavut Monday, after travelling to Iqaluit over the weekend to seek support for her Conservative leadership bid.

Gladu said she's been waiting since last Thursday for the party to confirm she has 2,000 signatures and the $125,000 to go with it to pass the second qualifying threshold.
