UPDATE: Police dog 'Blitz' tracks down suspect in Petrolia

An OPP police dog named "Blitz" tracked down a stolen vehicle suspect in Petrolia Monday morning.

Lambton OPP said about an hour after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle on Cameron Road in Dawn-Euphemia Township, they received a call about gasoline being stolen.

At about 10 a.m. police said the vehicle in question was found on Robert Street in Petrolia.

An officer tried to arrest a suspect who fled on foot.

The West Region OPP Canine Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team were called in and a suspect was arrested.

Kenneth Lewis, 39, of London, faces numerous charges including resisting a peace officer, escaping lawful custody, theft of a motor vehicle, and theft under $5,000.
