St. Pat's students pull off another 'Miracle' food drive

The 36th annual Irish Miracle Food Drive collected over 7,000 bags of non-perishable food items over the weekend.

St. Patrick's High School students and volunteers canvassed the city of Sarnia Saturday morning, collecting food donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Society food bank.

Organizers at the Sarnia secondary school were hoping to collect 9,000 bags for those in need. In 2018, around 500 students, staff and community volunteers collected over 8,000 bags of non-perishable food items during the 35th Irish Miracle Food Drive.

The annual campaign will help St. Vincent de Paul fill around 2,000 Christmas hampers this holiday season. Residents still wishing to donate can drop off non-perishable food items at the organization's Sarnia location at ‎200 Vidal St N.
