Major Sarnia high-rise apartment permit still pending

With one month to go, building activity in Sarnia is lagging well behind 2018's pace.

City hall issued 41 permits worth just over $4.9 million in November for an 11-month total of $68.5 million.

That's more than $13 million less than at this time last year.

The shortfall, however, could still be more than made up if a major $31 million permit comes through before year's end. Plans for Tricar Group's 15 storey waterfront apartment tower on Front Street North, has been under review at city hall for months.

There were seven permits issued for single-family homes in November for a yearly total of 52, which is 25 fewer than 2018's 11-month total.
