UPDATE: Area being impacted by remnants of Barry

Sarnia-Lambton again dodged the potential for heavy rain Wednesday.

Environment Canada issued special weather statements Tuesday night and again Wednesday morning only to end them without significant rainfall in the area.

Heavy showers tracked to the south and east of Sarnia-Lambton.

The region is being impacted by a hot, humid, moisture-laden air mass that is the remnants of tropical storm Barry that briefly became a hurricane when it made landfall Saturday in Louisiana.

North winds, however, were again keeping temperatures cooler near Lake Huron Wednesday afternoon with fog forming along the Sarnia lakeshore.

The humidex is expected to reach 38 C, 100 F, on southwest winds Thursday with the temperature only going down to 26 C, 79 F, Thursday night.

A daytime high of 34 C, 93 F, is forecast for Friday.

Relief from the heat and humidity is expected early next week.
