Doctor's sexual assault case put over to late July

A Sarnia doctor charged in the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old female patient nearly 40 years ago, will appear again in court in late July.

Legal counsel for 76-year-old Dr. Kunwar Singh appeared on his behalf in the Ontario Court of Justice Tuesday morning.

The matter was adjourned to July 30 for a meeting between Crown counsel and Dr. Singh’s lawyer, Stephen Darroch of Toronto.

Dr. Singh was arrested and charged in December with one count of indecent assault of a female that allegedly occurred during an assessment at a doctor’s office in 1982.

The alleged victim is now 51.
