Braves win Port Lambton AAA baseball tournament

The Sarnia Braves won the Port Lambton 'AAA' tournament over the weekend, defeating the Strathroy Royals 5-2 in the final game.

Jake Near pitched five strong innings in the championship game.

Sasha Gerster made his debut and picked up the save.

Brett Allardyce had three RBI. Mckenzie Maxwell had two. The tournament MVP for the squad was Brennan Healy who caught all five tournament games.

The Braves also beat Kitchener 2-0, Kincardine 10-3, and Pickering 4-3 in extra innings. They lost to the Michigan Braves 3-2 in the opening game.
