Mobile household hazardous waste depot Saturday

It's a chance for Sarnia-Lambton residents to safely dispose of unwanted items around the house.

The County of Lambton and Clean Harbors Canada are holding a mobile household hazardous waste day on Saturday.

County of Lambton Public Works Manager Matt Deline said they'll take a wide range of things.

"We accept corrosive, toxic, reactive and flammable materials," said Deline. "These items should never be placed in a regular landfill because they have the potential to injure workers and damage the environment."

Deline said they aren't accepting things like PCB's, commercial, industrial, or radioactive waste.

Electronics, explosives, and tires are also prohibited, and containers can be no more than 50 pounds.

The depot runs from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Lambton College parking lot.
