Significant cocaine seizure at Blue Water Bridge

A 29-year-old Brantford man is charged after 58.15 kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward.

On May 24, a man was referred to secondary inspection by Canada Border Services Agency officers.

A detector dog and imaging x-ray machine allegedly discovered 48 bricks of suspected cocaine inside of a hidden compartment in the vehicle.

The accused was transferred to RCMP custody and charged.

Olanrewaju Michael Ojelade is charged with one count each of importing, trafficking, and possession of a schedule one substance.

He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 13, and the investigation continues.
