Reconfiguration of busy Watford intersection to be explored

The Lambton Public Works Department is being asked to investigate the possible reconfiguration of Watford's busiest intersection.

Warwick Township Council directed its staff to contact the county to begin discussions about the corner of Nauvoo Road and Confederation Line.

Administrator/Clerk Amanda Gubbels said increased traffic volumes have led to safety concerns.

"The primary goals are to address parking along there that limits sight lines, so we'd like to address parking along both of the streets by transport trucks," said Gubbels. "We also have an access ramp from Confederation to Nauvoo that is a bit out of date."

The area has become increasingly busy since the Tim Horton's opened in 2017.

The installation of street lights or a roundabout could be possibilities but nothing has been finalized.
