UPDATE: Wilkesport man suffers life-threatening injuries in Chatham crash

Two people remain in the hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Grand River Line.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Friday on Grand River Line east of Jacob Road. According to police, a vehicle travelling eastbound crossed the center line and struck a vehicle travelling westbound.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Wilkesport, Ontario remains at London Health Sciences with life-threatening injuries. The other driver, a 36-year-old Stoney Point, Ontario, woman remains at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life threatening injuries.

Grand River Line was closed until 2 a.m. while police investigated.

The Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-355-1092.
