Valley Axe Hosting Cutting Edge Competition

Sarnia's Valley Axe is welcoming some of the region's best knife and axe throwers this weekend.

The first ever International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame (IKTHOF) Ontario Regionals takes place Saturday and Sunday at the London Line facility.

The outdoor event features over 50 competitors from Ontario and Michigan.

Owner Bo Tait is excited the club has been asked to hold such a high profile event.

"We've been crushing it for over two years now," says Tait. "We are extremely well-equipped to handle a tournament of this size. We have hundreds of people through on a weekly basis. So, we're making sure everything is shipshape. Our staff is ready to go and we can handle this."

Local competitors include Brett Dewhirst, Travis Kelly, Jerry Gruszecki, and Amanda Sabastian.

The tournament gets underway at 8am Saturday and runs until 4pm, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.

Three bands will be performing starting at 7:30pm Saturday night.

Action will continue starting at 8am on Sunday. Spectators are welcome to attend.
