Pot education sessions offered

Lambton Public Health is educating parents and caregivers about marijuana so they can have an open and honest discussion with teens.

A pair of upcoming seminars, featuring a panel of local experts, will focus on health effects, the law, safer ways to use, and personal stories.

Health Promoter Lisa Clark said there are many dangers associated with smoking pot as early as age 16.

"They could have problems with learning and memory, more difficulty studying, more likely to drop out of high school or university, increased likelihood of psychosis and possible addiction," she said.

The free sessions are being held on November 20 at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Lambton College Events Centre.

To register, you can go to www.cannabisevent.eventbrite.ca or www.lambtonhealth.on.ca.
