Sarnians 'sock it' to Sarnia fire

Sarnia Fire and Rescue is thrilled with the success of its "Sock it to Us" campaign.

The organization has already collected over 3,000 pairs for those in need, smashing the goal of 1,000.

Speaking on CHOK's morning show on Monday, Public Education Officer Mike Otis said he's thrilled with the generosity of the community.

"Each time we've been here we've taken some back from the radio station because you guys have been helping out," said Otis. "Every time I'm at the fire hall we get more and more, and the Inn of the Good Shepherd has to pick them up because we have so many. It's been really, really good."

Otis said they're still in need of women's and children's socks.

Sock donations can be dropped off at the East Street fire hall again today, or at Blackburn Radio at 1415 London Rd.
