United Way campaign nearing 40 per cent mark

Only three weeks into the campaign and the Sarnia-Lambton United Way has raised $760,000.

Executive Director Dave Brown said that's about 38 per cent of their $2 million goal.

He said several campaigns and events in the coming weeks will help push them closer to the halfway mark.

"The biggest fundraiser we're gearing up for is our Locally Lambton Dinner on Saturday, October 27 at Lambton College," said Brown. "Following that we'll have a Pasta Fest at the Dante Club November 15 and of course our Stair Climb to burn off those carbs will be on Giving Tuesday, November 27."

The Locally Lambton Dinner event was cancelled last year because of the labour dispute at Ontario colleges.

The United Way helps fund 19 local agencies providing 35 programs and services to the community.
