Sarnia firefighters help remember 9/11

A sombre ceremony was held at 9 a.m. at the International Flag Plaza just north of the Blue Water Bridges.

Fire Life Safety Educator Mike Otis said it's important to show solidarity with their American brothers and sisters.

"It's important for us to pay our respects to all of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice on September 11," said Otis. "As firefighters, it was an especially bad day for us with 343 firefighters dying."

Otis said they had an in-service truck and numerous uniformed firefighters on hand.

Police officers, EMS, and the public were also invited to attend the ceremony.
