Heat Warning For Sarnia-Lambton

Extreme heat and humidity will dominate Sarnia-Lambton's weather for the next few days.

Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the area Sunday afternoon.

The weather agency says a hot and humid airmass is forecast to reach the area Monday and remain in place into Wednesday.

Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 31 C (88 F) with humidex values around 40 C. (104 F)

Overnight low temperatures will be in the low twenties providing little relief from the heat.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
