Ipperwash Beach Club Celebrating Anniversary

A landmark at Ipperwash Beach is celebrating the one year anniversary of its restoration this weekend.

Built in the 1920s, The Ipperwash Hotel, was originally built by Nathaniel Dailey and Col. John Ross and later became Wallygators.

Jim Dekker refurbished the building and reopened it as the Ipperwash Beach Club last summer.

He says the public has really embraced them since.

"Its completely transformed not only the corner property, but the entire town of Ipperwash," says Dekker. "Its brought people together. People from west Ipperwash that have never met people from east Ipperwash. Its become a focal point for the entire community."

To thank everyone for their support, Dekker says they'll be giving out free hot dogs and ice cream to kids under 10, from 11am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday.
