Miracle Treat Day Supports Children's Hospitals

Today's the perfect day to cool off with a blizzard.

Proceeds from every Dairy Queen Blizzard sold on Thursday will be donated to the 14 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in Canada.

Sarnia DQ Grill and Chill Owner Lori Lunn says in 2017, the local restaurant raised just over $12,000 and would like to surpass that this year.

She says money raised locally will benefit the Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre.

"I know that they do buy equipment and stuff with it," says Lunn. "It's all Dairy Queen's across Canada and all the hospitals across Canada and they put it to good use."

The company says donations will help provide support for over 2.3-million patient visits each year to local Children's Miracle Network member hospitals.
